Great experience for a party of 6 showing up around 7p on a Saturday Night.  They were pretty quick to find a spot to accommodate us and luckily it wasn't outside on the patio on a chilly December night.  After being seated, the waitress Megan promptly took and filled our drink orders.  She was on top of refills throughout the evening as we were all particularly thirsty from a day of running around town.

They have a pretty extensive menu from Italian favorites (lasagna, manicotti, bolognese, veal, and chicken) to burgers and sandwiches.  They also have a kids menu for the smaller appetites.

Stuffed Banana Peppers - These were spicy which is awesome.  Some places are afraid to do spice and I'm glad these had some heat!  The filling was plentiful and the melted cheese on top was quality stuff.

Gnocchi and Sausage - Since the girl ordering wasn't a fan of sausage, they were able to substitute meatballs instead.  She loved it.  The meatballs were loosely packed and clearly homemade.  The gnocchi was dense like I remember growing up, so it filled you up fast!  The vodka sauce went well with it.

Kids Mac N Cheese - It was a nice sized portion that didn't get finished.  When a kid doesn't finish something, it's either too much or it wasn't that good.  I didn't ask him.

Chicken Anthony - This had lots of chicken and was packed with flavor from all of the ingredients (goat cheese, sun dried tomatoes, basil, lemon).  I didn't think the wife would finish it but it was gone (not in 60 seconds).

Blackened Prime Rib Sandwich - I didn't try this one, but it looked amazing.  It was at the far end of the table so I didn't get a good picture.  It looked like an amazing steak sandwich though.

Turkey Devonshire - Two people at the table ordered this (if you're paying attention, that's 1/3).  This was the reason I wanted to come.  The size was a bit underwhelming so I was glad I got an appetizer, but it was absolutely delicious.  The sandwich is a Pittsburgh thing and few restaurants are doing it.  The turkey was moist and had some crispiness from being under the broiler.  The bacon was crisp and the bread was thick.  The cheesy sauce ladled on top soaked through and gave the dish the burst of gooey flavor that held it all together.  The fresh tomatoes on top cut through the dense sauce.  I was happy as I hadn't had one of these in many many years and probably didn't appreciate it very much way back then.  This is a foodie dish for sure.

The prices are pretty reasonable for the quality of the food.  They have a decent sized parking lot right next door, and the staff was amazing with their service and making sure we enjoyed everything.

Currently sitting in Roman bistro for January 2020 restaurant week with my friend and her 3 children (ages 16 and 11 year old twins)

Three of us got restaurant week and the twins got food off the menu.  I'm not sure what happened.  But Roman bistro needs to get their crap together.  Till then - you need to avoid.

    Here's the problems
    1. 3 of us got appetizers with the restaurant week.  Soup came - cold. (It wasn't a cold soup!) But then we had to wait another 10 minutes for the 3rd app.

    2.   5 minutes after we got our 3rd appetizer - 2 of the entrees came out (the 2 not getting restaurant week).   We wait.   And wait.   And wait.  20+ minutes pass before the rest of the food arrives.  The other 2 were already done with their food!

    3.  We order desserts.  I get one to go and everyone else gets one to eat there.   FORTY minutes later dessert comes.

    4.  While waiting for our desserts the manager came
To see how things were.   We explained how things were poorly timed.  He tells us I want to make this right.   So he gets us these cards.   They give you a free app with the purchase of an entree.    Definitely not making things right.  We had been there 2 hours at this point.  He also told us that he was told we asked for the other entrees early.   They Are 11 year old kids - they don't need their food early nor did we ask for it to come early.   Either the waiter or the manager were telling stories cause the waiter told us a different story.

    5.   I mentioned I got my dessert to go.   Our waiter brought it out and said your dessert is packed up for you.   GreAt.   Take it home - it's not dessert.  It's someone else's leftovers.

I have no words about this experience at Roman bistro other than - AVOID.   The service was horrendous.  I have no words about how terrible it was.   The manager - was terrible.

Those 'appetizer' cards were left on the table with Note of 'no thanks'.   Needless to say the experience was horrendous and I certainly won't be returning.

Went here with the extended family in between the viewing of my great aunt. The waitstaff was exceptionally prepared for so many of us on very short noticed. The food was great and the service was fast.

We were hesitant to come back here with a large group since the previous time we came it was a complete cluster.
I'm happy we decided to give it another try.

Ryan was a great server 1-12-2020.  The butternut squash ravioli was delicious, the sauce is garlic parmesan and better plain alfredo. My husband's chicken Conchiofi was loaded with artichokes but not as much tomato or garlic.  The last time we were here he got the Ciappino seafood platter with mussels and got food poisoning so avoid any seafood.

Still a great place for dinner and happy hour is incredible. Our server, Tyler, was excellent and even talked us into some new items and dessert tonight. We were not disappointed. The mussels were excellent and the greens and beans are the best I've had. Consistently a good dinner choice.
